Welcome to The Misty Morning Lakeside Retreat.
Misty Morning is located in Tallahassee, Florida on beautiful Lake Talquin.

In 1927 the Jackson Bluff Dam was constructed on the Ochlocknee River to produce hydroelectric power. The waters held back by the dam formed Lake Talquin, which now offers outstanding recreational activities. The lake is about 17 miles long, so there is plenty of room to fish, go boating, jet skiing, kayak, or just about anything else you can think of.
Lake Talquin is located on the west side of Tallahassee, one of the most beautiful cities in Florida. Tallahassee, named for the "old fields" it once encompassed, earned the title in the early 16th century from the Apalachee Indians who inhabited the area. Legend says the final spelling was chosen by Octavia Walton, daughter of the territorial governor of Florida. The city of Tallahassee was established in 1825, following a decision by the legislature to locate the capital of the new Florida Territory midway between the population centers of St. Augustine and Pensacola. Today, Tallahassee exemplifies not only the influence of the Indian, but also that of the Spanish, French and English who occupied the area in succession.
Misty Morning is located on the end of a secluded street with protected woods surrounding it. It is peaceful and quiet, yet has plenty to do. With a dock leading out to the water, it is perfect for fishing or just watching the sunrise. With a pontoon boat available for rent as well, you can make it a great getaway for the whole family!
